OUR STORY (History)
Living the Legacy of Those Before
The Rho Sigma Foundation (RSF) serves as the charitable arm of the Rho Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. RSF was established in Detroit, Michigan in 1999 and obtained 501(c)(3) status in 2000. RSF was established with the goal of expanding opportunities for its members to provide impactful service to the community with a specific emphasis on youth, women, and education. Early programs of the foundation included tutorial services (S.U.R.E. Program) in high need areas and an annual Youth Symposium, which continues today. With the generosity of Rho Sigma Chapter members and members of the community RSF provides scholarships to well deserving exemplary college-bound high school seniors, undergraduate students as well as graduate students pursuing advanced degrees.
